Our Story

Cindy paddleboardingOne of the hardest things I've ever done is to start an online business.  Not in the traditional sense of creating the website and marketing and all the challenges that go along with running a business but in sharing my life and passion with people.  It's not to say that running a business isn't easy. It's definitely a lot of work but to put yourself out there on display for others, in my opinion is the real challenge.  It takes confidence which is something I'm working on.  It helps that so far I've found some success but it's a process.

I've always been a private person and had this feeling that I wasn't good enough but here I am.  I almost couldn't believe it when I sold my first piece of artwork and then the first article of clothing on my website.  Those are the moments that will live forever in my mind.

You can't tell from my photo but I have curly hair.  It's unruly so I usually tie it back.  Aside from that it just helps to keep my hair out of my face when I'm on the water.  One day I'll learn to love it...I hope!

Mark and CindyMy husband Mark and I have been married for almost 25 years.  Together we have four kids, Kyra, Danica, Makayla and Liam and our dog Kota.  They are my life.  Mark is not only my life partner but my business partner.

As long as we can remember we've loved the ocean.  As kids, growing up in the prairies, we both remember summer vacations going to the beaches and collecting seashells - these were great memories for us.

We have always had a passion creating a life filled with hand made products and repurposing discarded objects.

Most of the clothing is made from recycled saris.  We love that they are repurposed and unique.  We can just image the stories behind where each piece has traveled.

One of our favourite things about our clothing is how versatile it is.  Both the skirts and robes are multi-purpose.  They can both be used as beach cover ups.  Additionally the skirts can be worn multiple ways such as skirts, dresses, vests, or shawls.

Recently we created another website to host our artwork.  Please visit:  Seatiful Artworks. We hope you enjoy our art as much as we've enjoyed creating them and the memories attached.
